Exploring the Barrow Centre at Mount Edgcumbe

The Upcycled Home Co. are very lucky to have our gorgeous shop situated in the simply stunning grounds of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park. But, we're not the only small, independent business that calls the Barrow Centre home. Situated just behind the main house and at the bottom of the steps from The Barrow Centre Car Park you will find several small businesses all offering unique experiences to enhance your visit.

The Farriers Cafe

The Farriers is a family run cafe situated in the old Edgcumbe stables next to the shop. It’s mission is to provide locally sourced, great homemade food. You’ll receive a warm welcome from their friendly team and they welcome children and dogs too.

Kate Williams Weaving

Upstairs in the Barrow Centre is the weaving studio of artist Kate Williams. Kate is a weaver who tries to make life difficult for herself. She uses a mechanical dobby loom as a constraint and challenges herself to find ways to convert her ideas into lively woven wall hangings of rich texture with plenty of colours. Every piece is designed and made on site in the studio which is generally open to the public on weekdays.

Helen Round

Our lovely shop and studio at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park sustains our connection with our community in what many people describe as “the forgotten corner” of Cornwall. You'll find us sewing, cutting and printing in our studios next to the shop. Open weekdays from 10-4, come and browse our collections of Cornish made, sustainable linen and bamboo homeware - great for gifting and for treating yourself too! Choose from lampshade and cushions, beautiful handprinted kitchen linens including tea towels, bread bags and bowl covers, our bamboo wellbeing range includes shower mitts, hair towels, makeup wipes and more. We even sell fabric and threads.

Adventure Segway

Assemble the whole family and glide with us on a multi award-winning adventure on board your own all terrain Segway. We’ve got a whole load of fun lined up! Discover a place of stunning natural beauty and follow the thousands who have taken the step to a more adventurous discovery.

Following your one-on-one training with an instructor head into our Segway Skills assault course. Navigate through a series of precision-based challenges, slaloms, ramps, balance beams and limbo!

Then before you know it – you’ll be gliding on a safari unlike any other. Choose from two routes. Discover our original Coastal Expedition or effortlessly climb to the summit of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and discover the most captivating sights on our Wildlife Expedition. Whether you like your thrills wild or mild, you’ll find your level of fun here! Adventure Segway is open daily.

Rebecca Day 360º scours the world sourcing the finest ingredients, directly from farmers and growers, for use in our custom-developed products. With the trading relationships we have established with our farmers and growers, we cut out the 'middle man' and ensure they are being paid the correct rates for their goods. Research and development and working with new and unique ingredients are at our heart. Partnering with them to create sustainable humanitarian solutions that enrich their lives, their families, and communities is a big part of the 360º approach we take to ensure the sustainability of our earth.
