I love it when the team get creative… here’s a short blog from our adorable Charley….
Mount Edgecumbe was one of the first places I’d visited when I’d moved to the South West 17 years ago. The tranquil grounds and stunning scenery pulled me in and I think back to my first visit fondly.
To tell little 17 year old me that I’d be living in the next village so I can visit whenever I like and spend my weekends working at The Upcycled Home Co, I’d have laughed your head off.
We are so lucky to be nestled amongst so much beauty here on the Rame Peninsula - I tell you I raced to watch The Salt Path just to see Rame Head on the big screen!
Mount Edgecumbe is so well linked by bus and Ferry, so if you don’t have a car or drive you’re not going to be left out! With the sun beaming down on the park, and the school Summer Holidays around the corner, it’s so easy to spend the whole day here.
Step over from Plymouth Boat Trip’s ferry from the Royal William Yard (or catch the 70 bus and get off at Cremyll) and grab something delightful for breakfast from the Orangery Gatehouse.
Take a morning dip and look for sea treasure - follow the coast of the park and book in for a session at Motts Sauna and cool yourself down with another dip!
Walk your way all the way up to the Barrow Centre building up your appetite and grab some lunch from The Farriers.
It goes without saying, of course have a browse within the shop and see our latest creations and find out about our upcoming workshops.
Outside the shop is a take and leave book nook - grab a book here for a lazy afternoon of reading in the park amongst the wildlife. We also have some children’s stories in the shop!
Time for tea - Head back down the hill (if you time it right there may be a buggy willing to help you get down or up the park!) Finally grab some dinner from from The Edgecumbe Arms and then head back to Plymouth on the ferry, or the bus.
You’ll be well fed, relaxed and ready for a new day with tonnes of memories to head back again soon.
What’s your idea of a good day out, here on The Rame Peninsula?
Charley
