Rame Lookout

Mount Edgcumbe owns over 865 acres across The Rame Peninsula. This includes many buildings, some disused or in need of renovation. Several of these have been turned into luxury holiday lets, to help boost the park's income, some of which I’m proud to have been asked to design the interiors.

Situated right on the edge of The Rame Peninsula, overlooking the iconic chapel there and next door to the Coast watch Station was a tiny building crying out to be utilised. It was in a state of disrepair and so after knocking down some walls and redesigning the interior layout I began my mood board.

Using the Coastguard colours of blue, black and yellow, I began my search for locally made artisan work that would compliment the space and my design. Although the space was tiny it was a tough brief, as absolutely essential that everything not only served a purpose but was beautiful too. Wherever possible recycled, organic and sustainable materials were used.
