An Upcycled Home Co Christmas Round Up

Hello and Merry Christmas!

As always I find myself looking back over my shoulder and wondering what happened to the last 12 months! I’m pleased to say, after all the events of the past few years we are still opening our doors and trading!

Welcome to the newest member of our team!

Our biggest news is we welcomed the lovely Lillie to our team this year and she’s looking forward to her first Mount Edgcumbe Christmas Fayre on sat 10th & sun 11th December. We will both be in store ‘Merry & Bright’ so please do pop in and enjoy our festive cheer whilst enjoying some Christmas shopping.

Both Lillie and I thoroughly enjoyed the Makers Christmas fair this year where we caught up with existing makers and met a few new ones too which we will be introducing you to in the New Year. I hope you have enjoyed the various blogs over the past few months, we have had some lovely guest blogs which we hope to continue into the new year.

The importance of shopping small

It goes without saying it has been, yet again, a difficult time for small businesses. However I’m always both delighted and comforted by the endless support from our wonderful customers, both regulars and those who have just discovered us. I I wish I could bottle how it feels when I let makers know they have sold their creations…it really is pure magic and helps fulfil someone’s dream.

The joy of ethical shopping

I’m always asked how I will be spending Christmastime and the answer is always “with family”. This year I think I’ve found ‘the perfect gift’ for all my loved ones just by taking time to shop ethically, supporting as many small businesses as possible and I can’t wait to see their reactions when they receive them.

Christmas Eve will be spent doing our HOE HOE HOE jigsaw and munching on a box of Chocolarder Milk and Cookie truffles with a cup of Calm Cocoa… (If that sounds like just what you're after, have a browse below.)

Family Time

We also have the usual rounds of Christmas parties, dinner parties, family get togethers and the ‘Driving home for Christmas’ trip (Derbyshire and Cambridgeshire) to see as many loved ones as possible (with the Christmas music on full blast of course!)…because it’s not what’s under the tree but who is around it.

New year will be relaxing at home, fireside, again with loved ones with a box of Sloe Gin Truffles and a glass of fizz.

So from myself, my team and our amazing artisan makers have yourself a very

Happy, Peaceful Christmastime 🥂

We look forward to seeing you all in 2023! Wherever you are, whatever you do, take time to be in the moment - it’s over far too quickly! 🎄
