Captain Blake's Retreat

This was such a challenge due to its remote coastal path location.  We literally started with an abandoned old hut and transformed it into high end, luxury accommodation.  As the name was already chosen this was my inspiration for the interior. My brief was to make it amazing!

Simple design, attention to detail and textures were my base.  From cleat hooks on the doors, oak floors, granite wash basin and handmade bespoke lighting, no detail was overlooked.

The views from this coastal retreat are stunning, and the open plan, fresh feel inside reflects that.  We added full length floor to ceiling windows to capture the spectacular ocean views from every vantage point, and when flung open you feel the fresh sea salt air throughout.

Contemporary linen, vintage leather, driftwood and granite textures are everywhere, even the tiles in the shower room imitate ripples in the sand... and the strong blues used throughout make the open plan kitchen, diner, lounge and bedroom work in harmony with the surroundings.

With an outdoor shower, surfboard storage and a telescopic tripod I took full advantage of all this unique location has to offer... pure, breathtaking luxury.
