Neptune's Pots - lost fishing rope weaving workshop

Make a woven pot with Michelle from Smartie lids on the beach. Michelle has been collecting marine debris from Cornish beaches for over a decade and is actively involved in raising awareness of the growing impact of plastics and waste in our oceans.

Michelle will show you the ancient technique to make a set of three tiny pots or a couple of bigger ones, using beach found fishing rope.

Plenty of beach found rope will be available in all sorts of colours or you can bring your own clean and dried rope that you have found on your own beach cleans to incorporate in your pots.

Once you have been shown the technique you can make pots to your hearts content. it's such a satisfying thing to do and your friends will love to receive them as gifts.
